Technically, yes, you CAN play ante cards in Magic The Gathering, but it totally depends on who you're playing with. The official rules have pretty much phased ante out of competitive and casual play. It's considered a part of the game's history, and you'll find most players prefer to leave it there. If you're just having fun with friends and everyone agrees, sure, throw in an ante card for old times' sake!

I remember playing with ante cards back in the day. It definitely added an extra thrill to the game, knowing you could lose your favorite card to your opponent. But yeah, it's not really a thing anymore unless you and your friends are feeling nostalgic.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
