Yep, single-player and split-screen modes are available without PS Plus. For online multiplayer, you'll need to subscribe.

Only local and solo modes work without PS Plus. No online fun without it!

I鈥檝e been enjoying Ark offline and with friends on local co-op without PS Plus for months! But online? Definitely need PS Plus.
