From my experience, you need PSN to play online. I tried it once without, and it just wouldn't connect.

Nope, you need PSN for online multiplayer. But hey, local multiplayer is an option if you're down for some in-person smackdown!

Unfortunately, you can't play Injustice 2 with your friend online without PSN. However, couch co-op still works, so grab a buddy and a couple of controllers!
