Actually did the whole multiple instances and third-party software trick to play Terraria in split screen on my PC. It wasn't easy and took a bit of time to set up, but totally worth the effort! The game didn't crash and we had a blast. So, it's a yes from me, with a little bit of elbow grease.
Nope, Terraria doesn't natively support split screen on PC. You're outta luck if you're looking for an easy setup like on consoles. But, if you're feeling adventurous, there are some workarounds involving multiple instances of the game and third-party software. It's a bit of a hack and not for the faint of heart.
