Unfortunately, once you've deleted a Terraria character it's pretty much gone for good unless you've backed up your game manually. The game doesn't have a built-in feature for character recovery, so it's super important to make sure you really want to say goodbye before you hit that delete button. If you're a saver, it might be a good idea to back up your game files regularly just in case!
Actually, I managed to get my character back! I had a backup of my entire Terraria folder because I'm super cautious. If you've made a backup of your game data at some point, just restore it and your character should be there. Always back up your files, folks!
