Can you refund gifted Steam games?
AttallingHalt·7 months agoYep, you can refund gifted Steam games, but there's a catch. The person who bought the gift has to be the one to initiate the refund. They'll get the refund in their Steam Wallet or through their original payment method. Keep in mind, the game can’t have been played for more than 2 hours, and the refund must be requested within 14 days of purchase. So, if you got a game you don’t want, better let your friend know ASAP!

Actually, Steam's policy on this is pretty clear. If you've been gifted a game that you're not vibing with, you can't just refund it yourself. The original buyer has to request the refund. Just make sure you haven’t gone over the 2-hour playtime limit and that it's within 14 days of the purchase. My mate had to do this for me once, and it was all pretty smooth.
Good luck getting a refund for a gift. Steam makes the original buyer do it.
