Can you respond to Pact triggers in MTG?
TrainingHost路7 months agoAbsolutely! In Magic The Gathering, when a Pact's trigger goes off during your upkeep, meaning it's time to pay up or lose the game, you can indeed respond to it. This is because the trigger goes on the stack, just like most abilities and spells. So, if you have an instant-speed spell or ability that can generate the mana you need, or somehow counter the trigger itself, you're all set to respond. Just remember, you still gotta pay for the Pact or meet its condition to avoid losing the game.

Nope, can't do anything. Once you're at the upkeep trigger, you're basically toast if you can't pay the cost. Trust me, learned that the hard way.
Short answer: Yes, but you better have a good plan. Those Pacts can be brutal if you're not ready to pay up!
