Actually, in a way, yes, but it's not like Minecraft. As of the Journey's End update, if you're in a bed and the game is paused in single-player mode, time speeds up. So, it's kind of like sleeping through the night, just without the dreaming.
No sleeping! Night time is for fighting off zombies and digging deep, not catching Z's. Get crafting or exploring, that's the real Terraria way.
