Absolutely, you can still play Super Mario Maker 1, but just know that Nintendo discontinued the online services for sharing and downloading levels in March 2021. So fire up that Wii U or 3DS and get creating or playing the levels you already have!

Super Mario Maker 1 still works on Wii U and 3DS, but online functions are gone. Time to get creative solo!

Yes, you can still play it, but without the online features, it's like trying to bake a cake without frosting. Still good, but missing that sweet, sweet extra.

I still boot up Super Mario Maker 1 on my Wii U all the time! Creating levels and playing the ones saved locally can still be a blast.
