Nope, you can't traditionally tame a yao guai to follow you around like a pet dog in Fallout 4. BUT, with the Wasteland Workshop DLC, you can capture them in cages, tame them and then release them to roam around your settlement. They won't follow you into the wasteland, though.

Actually, I managed to get a yao guai in my settlement with the DLC. It's kinda like taming since it doesn't attack me or my settlers. Not the same as having it follow you on adventures, but still cool!
