Actually, without any special cards or abilities in play that specifically allow it, elves or any other creatures can't be tapped at instant speed just because you feel like it. You need something in play that gives you the permission slip to bend the rules.

Yep, you sure can tap elves at instant speed in Magic The Gathering, but you've gotta have the right setup. See, elves on their own just chill until you say go. But if you've got an ability or spell that says 'Hey, tap that elf!' then boom, you can do it whenever鈥攄uring your turn, their turn, whenever it's legal to cast an instant.

Short answer: Yes, if you've got the right card or ability in play. I've been playing MTG for years and have tapped many elves at speeds that would make your head spin. But remember, it's all about what's on the field or in your hand.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
