Can you target your own Negate in MTG?
DepetallingMummy路7 months agoAbsolutely! In Magic The Gathering, you can target your own spells with Negate. It's a nifty way to flex those strategic muscles, especially if you're concocting some grand plan that involves countering your own spell. Just remember that Negate can only counter spells that are noncreature, so don't try to get cheeky countering your own creatures!

Nope, why would you? Negate targets noncreature spells, and sure, you CAN target your own, but it's usually more about messing with your opponent's plan. Unless you've got some 4D chess strategy, spend your Negates wisely!
Done it. Countered my own spell with Negate to trigger a bizarre win condition once. The look on my opponent's face was priceless. It's all about the mind games and those niche moments where such a play is just the right kind of unexpected!
