Nope, can't just unequip because you feel like it. Equipment sticks until something else (like a spell or ability) says otherwise. You gotta pay the equip cost to attach it to a different creature though.

Actually, you can move equipment around to your heart's content, as long as you're willing to pay for it! Just pony up the equip cost during your main phase and attach it to another creature. So, not 'unequipping' in the traditional sense, but definitely a way to shuffle things around.

In Magic The Gathering, 'unequipping' isn't a thing. Once you've equipped an artifact to a creature, it stays equipped until the creature dies or another card effect causes the equipment to move or be removed. However, you can always equip the artifact to another creature you control during your turn by paying the equip cost again.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
