Unfortunately, Xbox 360 controllers are not supported on the Xbox One. You’ll need an Xbox One controller or newer.

Nope, you can’t use an Xbox 360 controller on an Xbox One. The systems just aren’t compatible.

As someone who's tried it, it doesn't work. I had to buy an Xbox One controller. Compatibility is key!
