Sure you can, but remember: it has to be FAT32. NTFS won't work.

Absolutely, I use mine all the time for storing extra games and movies. Just format it to FAT32 and you're good to go!

Yes, you can! Just make sure it's formatted to FAT32, as that's the file system the PS3 can read.
