Yes, you can use a USB drive for storage on the PS5, but it’s only for PS4 games and media storage. PS5 games need to be stored on the internal SSD or an officially supported SSD expansion.

Yes, but remember, PS5 games won't run from a USB drive. You can only store PS4 games and media files there.

I’ve been using a USB drive on my PS5 to store all my PS4 games and media. Works like a charm for freeing up that SSD space for PS5 titles!

Absolutely! Just keep in mind that PS5 games can't be played directly from the USB storage; you'll need to move them back to the internal storage to play.
