Based on my experience, using a VPN will likely get you soft-banned. Niantic's pretty serious about keeping the game fair, and VPNs are a red flag for them.

Using a VPN with Pokemon GO usually results in a big ol' headache. Niantic's anti-cheat system flags VPN use and can lead to soft bans. So, better play it safe and stick to your regular network!
