Absolutely, you can use an external hard drive with a PS3! Just make sure it's formatted to FAT32, since NTFS isn't supported.

Yes, but FAT32 is the way to go. NTFS won't work with a PS3.

Who even uses a PS3 anymore? But yes, FAT32 external drives work fine.

Yeah, you can! Had mine hooked up for years. Just format it to FAT32 and the PS3 will recognize it.
