Nope, doesn't work like that. If the card itself isn't in a Standard-legal set, its old artsy version ain't gonna fly. It’s gotta be reprinted in one of the sets that are currently in Standard.

Gotta say, using old artwork in my Standard decks is my secret joy. There’s something epic about dropping an ancient-looking card on the table and watching your opponent's face. Plus, it's totally legal as long as the card is Standard-legal!

Absolutely! In MTG, as long as the card with the old artwork is a reprint of a card that's currently legal in Standard format, you can totally use it. For example, if Lightning Bolt gets reprinted in a current Standard set, your old-school Lightning Bolt is fair game. It's all about the card name and its current Standard legality, not the artwork. So, dig through those collections and give your deck some vintage flair!

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
