Absolutely, you can use old cards in the Pokemon TCG, but it really depends on what format you're playing. In casual play, anything goes as long as your friends are cool with it. For official tournaments, Pokemon TCG has different formats like Standard and Expanded. Standard only allows the most recent sets, while Expanded includes cards from a wider range of sets. So dust off those oldies but goodies for your next casual game, or check if they fit into the Expanded format for something more competitive!

Hot take: Honestly, just focus on the new cards. The game evolves, and so should your deck. Plus, newer cards are usually more balanced for the current meta.

Old cards? Yup, I've been using them for years in casual play. My friends and I love mixing it up with cards from all different eras. It's like a trip down memory lane every game night. Just remember, the look on their face when you pull out a vintage card they forgot about is priceless.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
