Nope, old controllers won't work on a PS4.
I tried using a PS3 controller on my PS4 once. It didn't work directly, but an adapter made it possible. Still, the experience wasn't as good as using a DualShock 4.
Unfortunately, you can't directly use old PlayStation controllers like those from PS1, PS2, or PS3 on a PS4. The PS4 requires its own DualShock 4 controller. But, there are adapters available if you're really determined!
