Yep, you absolutely can play one physical Animal Crossing game cartridge on two different Switch consoles, just not at the same time! Think of it like a book you can pass around—only one person gets to read it at a time. So, if you've got the cartridge, you're good to just pop it into another Switch and start playing. Just remember, your island doesn't travel with the cartridge; the game save lives on the Switch itself.

If you're thinking digital, though, that's a different story. Digital purchases on the Nintendo eShop are tied to the account that bought them. Sharing a digital game between two Switches is kinda tricky. You need to use one account as the primary account on both devices, but only the primary console can play the game without an internet connection. It's doable but comes with a few hoops to jump through!

Short answer: No for digital. Yes for physical, but not at the same time. Enjoy playing!

If you're an Animal Crossing player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Nintendo eShop gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
