From personal experience, I can confirm that PS3 discs won't work on my PS5. But with PS Plus, I’ve been able to stream some of my old favorites.

Nope, the PS5 doesn't support PS3 discs directly. You'll need to use PlayStation Now (now part of PS Plus) to stream PS3 games.
