No, Splatoon 2 amiibo don't work in the first game. Nintendo kept them separate, so save them for Splatoon 2 fun!

Trust me, been there, tried that! Splatoon 2 amiibo work great in Splatoon 2 but not in the original Splatoon game. It's a bummer, but still worth it for the fun gear!
