Nah, Enel didn't die. He got defeated by Luffy and went off to the moon. Yeah, the moon! Sounds crazy, but that's One Piece for you. He's up there doing his own thing, thinking he's some sort of moon king.

Enel is very much alive! After his defeat, he took a one-way trip to the moon. One Piece doesn't do normal, and Enel's lunar adventure is proof of that. Last we heard, he's living it up with some automata he found there.
