Not exactly a copy, but Sonic definitely took some inspiration from Dragon Ball Z. Just look at Super Sonic—kinda reminds you of a certain spiky-haired Saiyan, right?

SEGA might have borrowed a few ideas from DBZ, but 'copy' is a bit strong. Super Sonic *does* channel those Super Saiyan vibes, though!
Nah, Sonic didn't copy Dragon Ball Z. They just happen to share some cool ideas and tropes, like turning golden and blowing your mind.
As someone who’s been a fan of both since the 90s, I can say Sonic’s Super form seems like an homage to DBZ rather than a copy. Both are awesome!
