Nope, Tears of the Kingdom didn't start as DLC. It actually began as a concept for additional content for Breath of the Wild, but the ideas were so vast and innovative that Nintendo decided it deserved to be its own full game! So, in a way, it's like the ultimate DLC that evolved into a groundbreaking sequel.

Honestly, it's its own beast. Started from DLC ideas but grew too big for its britches.

As someone who's been following the game since announcement, it's clear it was never just DLC. The game's scope and ambitions quickly outpaced that label. It's a full-on sequel that takes the concepts of Breath of the Wild to new heights. Nintendo saw the potential for something greater and ran with it.

If you're a Legend of Zelda player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Nintendo eShop gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
