I remember feeling tense when Tengen was fighting in the Entertainment District Arc, but he made it through! He decided to retire after that intense fight.
Nope, Tengen didn't die in Demon Slayer. He retired after the Entertainment District Arc because of his injuries, especially losing an eye and an arm. Still a total badass though!
