Did they remove 5th card protection in MTG Arena?
CreatingGulf路7 months agoNah, 5th card protection is still a thing in MTG Arena. When you get a 5th copy of a card, instead of getting a duplicate, it automatically converts into gems for rares and mythics, or progress in the Vault for commons and uncommons. So, you're still protected from getting useless duplicates.

Yes, but actually no. They didn't remove 5th card protection, but they tweaked how it works. You still don't get exact duplicates past your 4th copy, instead you get gems or Vault progress. It's their way of keeping things fair and rewarding.
5th card protection? More like mythic disappointment protection. Still there, so no worries about hoarding useless duplicates!
