Most of the modern Hot Wheels tracks you'll find today are designed to connect with each other, thanks to a universal connector system. So, if you've got a bunch of sets from recent years, you're in for a smooth ride piecing them together. However, if you've got some vintage track pieces from the early days, they might not play nice with the new stuff.
