Do cost reducers lower the overload cost in MTG?
HouselingMoon路7 months agoAbsolutely! Cost reducers in Magic The Gathering apply to all parts of a spell's cost, including the overload cost. Overload is an alternative cost you can pay instead of the spell's normal cost. So, if you've got something like 'Goblin Electromancer' on the field, it'll shave off that extra mana for your overloads too, making your big spells cheaper to unleash!

Nope, it doesn't work like that. Overload is a different kind of cost and doesn't get reduced.
From my experience, it sure does! Had a game where I used 'Baral, Chief of Compliance' and my overloaded 'Cyclonic Rift' was definitely cheaper. It's all about those alternative costs getting reduced too.
