Do Counters Count as Damage in MTG?
AlteringBeryl路7 months agoNope, counters don't count as damage in Magic The Gathering. Think of damage as something that reduces a creature's health temporarily until the end of the turn, whereas counters (like +1/+1 or -1/-1) stick around on the creature as long as it's on the battlefield. They're more like permanent stat changes rather than a quick hit to their health.

Absolutely not. Damage and counters are different. Damage goes away at the end of each turn; counters stay put.
As a longtime MTG player, gotta say no. Damage can be healed or wear off when the turn ends. Counters? They're like tattoos for creatures, permanent until something removes them.
