Do counters decrease when a creature is caused damage in MTG?
RemovingMyth路7 months agoNope, damage doesn't directly lower the counters on a creature. In Magic The Gathering, damage and counters are tracked separately. So if your creature gets smacked for some damage, any counters it has (whether they're +1/+1, loyalty from planeswalkers, or something else) stay put unless a card effect specifically says to remove them.

Absolutely not. Magic doesn't work like that. Damage to creatures doesn't touch their counters. Counters are a whole 'nother ball game.
Short and sweet: Damage doesn't remove counters. Keep those +1/+1s safe even when taking hits.
