Short answer: Yes, if the text on the card says so. Some creatures have abilities that activate specifically when they die, which are called 'dies' triggers. Always read the card!

Totally depends on the creature's abilities. Some creatures have 'When this creature dies' abilities that definitely trigger when they kick the bucket. Like, if your creature says something about doing something cool when it dies (think 'When Creature X dies, you gain 5 life'), that鈥檚 gonna happen. But if the creature鈥檚 ability needs it to be alive and kicking to work, then no dice if it鈥檚 already in the graveyard.

Nope, not always. Creatures need to be on the battlefield for most abilities to work. If it's dead, its abilities are dead too, unless it's specifically designed to do something from beyond the grave.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
