To keep it simple, no, you don't NEED Switch Online to enjoy the majority of what Animal Crossing offers. You can play, explore, and build your island all on your own without ever needing an internet connection. However, if you wanna visit your friends' islands, trade items, or access some of the online-exclusive features, then yeah, Switch Online becomes necessary. Think of it as the cherry on top of an already delicious cake!

Honestly, nope. Unless you're really into visiting other islands or getting those exclusive online items, you can totally enjoy Animal Crossing without Switch Online. I've spent hours just chilling on my island, and it's been a blast without needing to go online.

Short answer: Not really. Long answer: Only if you're into the whole online multiplayer vibe. If you're more of a solo adventurer, then you'll be just fine without it.

If you're an Animal Crossing player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Nintendo eShop gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
