Do I own my Steam games?
RepeatingRitz路7 months agoTechnically, when you buy games on Steam, you're purchasing a license to play the games, not the games themselves. This means Valve grants you the rights to download and play the games, but you don't actually own a physical copy. So, yes, you can play them as much as you want, but you don't 'own' them in the traditional sense.

As someone who's been on Steam for years, think of it as having a key to a vast library. You get to read (play) all the books (games), but the library (Steam) still owns them. Never had issues, though; feels like owning them without the clutter.
Nah, you don't really 'own' them. It's more like renting indefinitely. You have the game as long as Steam exists and your account is in good standing.
