Actually, medallions affect multicolored spells too, but only for their particular mana. So, if your spell is blue and red, and you have a Ruby Medallion, only the red mana cost goes down. It's all about matching colors!

So if you're casting a multicolored spell and it includes the color of your medallion, you get a discount on that color's mana cost. Say you have a Sapphire Medallion and you're casting a blue and green spell, only the blue part gets cheaper.
