Oh boy, do they ever! Not in the 'quit your day job' kinda way, but MtG judges can make some cash for their efforts. It varies a lot depending on the event. At local game stores, it might just be store credit or a few booster packs. But at larger tournaments, there's definitely a paycheck involved. Just don’t expect to buy that yacht anytime soon!

lol no, they get paid in the joy of the game and maybe some cards. It's more about the love of Magic The Gathering than the cash.

Actually, it's a mix. Some judges do get paid, especially at bigger tournaments. But a lot at the local level volunteer their time for perks like entry fees waived, free meals, or card packs. It's not a full-time job but a passionate side hustle.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
