Short answer: Yes. If a Pokemon has multiple types, your attack's effectiveness can be based on any of those types' weaknesses.

Yep, multi types count alright! If you're going against a Pokemon card that's packing more than one type, you gotta check weaknesses for each type. Say your opponent's Pokemon is Fire/Water type, your Electric type attacks are gonna sizzle the Water part, but won't do much to the Fire side. Always match your attack to whatever type they're weakest against to score those sweet extra damages.

Honestly, it's not that straightforward. While weaknesses apply, remember the specific card effects and abilities that might change how weaknesses work. I had a match where my opponent thought they had an advantage over my multi-type Pokemon, but thanks to a specific ability on my card, their attack did normal damage instead of extra.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
