Do old Hot Wheels cars have lead paint?
DislikingTramp路7 months agoTotally! Those vintage Hot Wheels are collectors' items now. Just don't let kids chew on them, and you'll be golden. They're too cool to eat anyway.

Nope, Hot Wheels are toys, guys. They've always been made safe for kids. Lead paint was never a part of the plan.
Yeah, some of the older Hot Wheels from the late 60s and early 70s might have used lead paint because the regulations were different back then. It was all about getting that shiny, metallic finish. Just make sure you're not gnawing on them, and you'll probably be okay!
Lead paint was common in many products, including toys, before regulations tightened up. So, older Hot Wheels models could indeed have lead in their paint. Best to display them, not play with them, if you're worried!
