Nope, not all PS3s can play PS2 discs. Only the original 60GB and 20GB models are backwards compatible.

I've got an old 'fat' PS3, and yes, PS2 games work like a charm on it. Just make sure it's the right model!

Newer PS3 models? Forget it. No PS2 disc love there.

Some PS3 models can play PS2 discs, specifically the early 'fat' models. Later models, sadly, removed this feature.
