Sweepers in MTG, oh those big plays! Technically, not all sweepers deal damage. Some sweepers, like the infamous 'Wrath of God', just outright destroy creatures without dealing damage. However, others, like 'Blasphemous Act', definitely bring the pain by dealing damage. So, it really depends on the card text. Always read the fine print to know whether your sweeper is going to scorch the battlefield or just make everything vanish!

Short answer: yes and no. Some do, some don't. Gotta read the card!

From personal experience, tossing out a 'Star of Extinction' feels like dealing damage, because, well, it does—20 damage to each creature and each planeswalker! Then there's 'Damnation' that just clears the board, no damage. So, sweepers can be a mixed bag.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
