You won't suddenly win every race because you slapped on some fancy tires. Skill plays a huge part, but having the right tires for the right scenario (like off-road tires for rough terrains) can give you an edge. It's more about giving yourself every advantage you can, no matter how small it might seem.
Honestly, it's all about the looks for me. Sure, some people swear by off-road tires for better control on rough terrains, but have you seen how cool custom tires look on a tricked-out ride? If you're cruising down Vinewood Boulevard and want to turn heads, those custom tires are where it's at. Performance-wise, I don't notice a huge difference, but then again, I'm usually too busy admiring my car's aesthetics to pay much attention to the handling.
