I tried it myself, but nope, Xbox 360 controllers don't work on the Xbox One S. Looks like you'll need those newer controllers.

Unfortunately, Xbox 360 controllers aren't directly compatible with the Xbox One S. You'll need an adapter or stick to the Xbox One controllers!
