Nope, they don't work out of the box. Gotta get an adapter if you really wanna use an Xbox controller on a Switch.

I tried it myself, and with an 8BitDo adapter, my Xbox controller works like a charm on my Switch!

Almost, but not quite. You'd need a special adapter like the 8BitDo Wireless USB Adapter to make it happen!
