Do you ever not run Counterspell in MTG?

Oh, absolutely! Running Counterspell in your deck depends heavily on your strategy and the format you're playing. In a fast-paced, aggressive deck, you might opt for more creatures or damage-dealing spells instead. Counterspells are great for control strategies, but sometimes they just don't fit into the game plan or the mana curve you're aiming for.

Never. Every deck needs Counterspell. It's like the Swiss Army knife of MTG cards. Control the game or go home!

Honestly, I skip Counterspell in most of my casual decks. It's not because it's not a powerful card – it certainly is – but because I prefer to focus on more thematic or synergistic cards that match the vibe of my deck. Plus, in casual play, I'd rather have more interactive games with friends than just shutting down their plays left and right.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
