Actually, avoiding combat is often a legit strategy, especially in control or combo decks. These decks focus more on dictating the pace of the game or setting up a game-winning combo and might not attack at all if they don't have to.

Gotta say, not engaging in combat sounds boring. Why would you miss out on the fun of a good brawl? But hey, to each their own.

Nope, you don't have to engage in combat in every turn of Magic The Gathering. There are plenty of non-combat strategies that can lead you to victory. Whether it鈥檚 using direct damage spells, building up a powerful set of enchantments, or milling your opponent's deck, there are many roads to Rome. Or in this case, many paths to defeating your opponent without throwing a single punch!

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
