Nope, you don't have to pay for the basic PlayStation Network (PSN) on the PS3. You only need to pay for PlayStation Plus if you want special benefits like free monthly games and online multiplayer for certain games.

I had a PS3 back in the day, and you don鈥檛 need to pay for basic online features. It's one of the reasons why it still rocks!
