For Splatoon on the Wii U, you'll definitely need a Nintendo Network ID to dive into those ink-splattered battles! But for the Nintendo Switch versions, it's not necessary unless you want to play online with squid friends.

Yes, if you're playing on the Wii U, you do need it for online play. Not a big deal though!

In short, only if you're on Wii U. Switch players, you're in the clear unless you're diving online!

...you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

This includes gift cards from all your favorite brands, like Amazon, Starbucks, Apple, Roblox, and many, many more!

In case you're wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying ads) and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
