Single player? Nope, you don't need PlayStation Plus. But if you're looking to enjoy the online features, then yes, you need it.

You absolutely need PS Plus if you're planning on slaying foes online in Dark Souls. Solo play is all yours without it, though!

Yep, you do! PlayStation Plus is required for online multiplayer in Dark Souls, so if you want to invade or summon friends, you need a subscription.
